Thank you to all who attended the CGS first presentation evening at the Pavillions. This event was a very late arrangement but overall the feedback from the event was very positive.

There were some 80+ members and guess who turned out to celebrate our third season as a society. Everyone came dressed to thrill and a good time was had by all. The evening wasn’t all about eating and dancing, there was the matter of announcing the CGS order of merit winner for 2009 and that award went to the most consistent golfer all year Mr Eric Queely. Eric plays off the lowest CGS handicap of 5 and was able to pip Nathan Burrows to the title in the final event at the Abbey. Nathan had led for most of the season but wasn’t able to hang on to take the crown.

The CGS would like to thank all it’s members for making this a successful year. Our events were well attended this year averaging 40 players per event, a big improvement on the previous season. Thanks again from all of the CGS committee members and hopefully we can keep improving as a society and improve on our events in 2010.
