This was the 4th season for the Carib-Morris Cup and it had been a very successful campaign for the CGS, however the run had to come to an end.

The match between the Chris Morris Society and the CGS is an annual event which started 3 years ago. This is one of those events in which we look forward to every year. The CGS has a process for selecting its team based on the events held during the season. This season the team looked strong to retain the trophy for a fourth year in a row. There were a number of new faces making the team for the first time and a new team captain Josh Johnson and vice-captain Martin Chidgey.

The event was held at the Little Lakes Golf Course an excellent course and one the CGS will most definitely be returning to. It’s not a long course but with an undulating terrain and water it certainly doesn’t need to be. This year the teams were reduced to 12 per side due to a lack of numbers on the side of the Chris Morris society, however the CGS had no issues with numbers wanting to play and could easily produce the original 18 man team if required.

The reduction in the teams didn’t dampen the enthusiasm for the CGS players and they were “ready to rumble” once the match began. However the enthusiasm of the CGS players didn’t reflect in the result as the team lost the trophy to the Chris Morris boys 4 points to 2 points.

Congratulations to the Chris Morris Society on a good victory.
