With 36 members and guests in attendance it was another well attended event and up for grabs on this occasion was the Chairman’s Trophy. Attending as a full-fledged member was Rob Anglin along with guest Stuart Ludlow.

Sapey Golf club is no push over and this is usually reflected in the winning score which is usually around the 36 point mark. The course as plenty of trouble awaiting the wayward shot so controlling your golf ball is a must and along with good greens it is always a stern test.

The weather was again with the CGS and provided some firmer surfaces compared to earlier in the season when the weather made things difficult.

So with the good conditions opportunities were abound for some good scoring.

With all groups now out on the course the scores started coming in…..

In with 34 points was new member Dean Ebanks, who has played many a CGS event but as a guest. In with 36 points and just missing out on the top prize on count back was Trevor Lammy. Winning on his second CGS event and playing as a member for the first time was Rob Anglin who also scored 36 points. Congratulations and welcome to the CGS Rob.

The nearest the pin went to Dave Brown, nearest in two and picking his second prize on the day went to Dean Ebanks. The longest drive went once again to Mr Higgins whom after obtaining both the nearest the pin and longest drive prizes decided to accept the drive for his prize. It’s been a long standing rule within the CGS that a player cannot win two on courses prizes since guests cannot win the overall prize. The drive took place on the 18th fairway and passed the previous mark set by Trevor Lammy. Par wasn’t his final score having messed up the second shot, the result would be a double bogey 6, which was unfortunate after the tee shot..

                <colgroup>
                            <col class="ninja_column_0 ">
                            <col class="ninja_column_1 ">
                            <col class="ninja_column_2 ">
                            <col class="ninja_column_3 ">
                    </colgroup>

With the season now in full flow the CGS headed over to an old favourite amongst the members, Sapey Golf Club.
