The CGS tour took the journey up to the Lilleshall Golf Club in Shropshire to contest this year\u2019s 4th Major the Captains Trophy.
\nAs usual a good field of 36 players turned up for the challenge, of which we welcomed one guest from Nottingham Lloyd Gordon playing in his first event.<\/p>\n
This is now the CGS\u2019s regular venue at Lilleshall G.C. which continues to be enjoyed by all that attend
\nOnce again, we had wonderful weather and the course was in very good condition and it was great to play on greens that were in excellent condition.<\/p>\n
Well after a day of good golf players came together in the clubhouse for a bite to eat and to find out who had come out on top.
\nSo, to the results which were as follows:<\/p>\n
1st place Anthony Davidson with 37points
\n2nd place Ron Ross with 35points
\n3rd Landis Brooks with 31points<\/p>\n
Nearest the pin in one (Hole 6) – Howard Browne
\nNearest the pin in one (Hole 16) \u2013 Paul Ramsey
\nNearest the pin in two (Hole 14) \u2013 Carlton Tomlinson
\nNearest the pin in three (Hole 10) \u2013 Elford Douglas
\nBirdie Hole which was hole 16 and won by George Branch<\/p>\n
Current standings in the order of merit so far are as follows:
\n1st Place \u2013 Andy Mack – 368points
\n2nd Place \u2013 Anthony Davidson \u2013 324 points
\n3rd Place \u2013 Landis Brooks – 256 points<\/p>\n
Finally, once again we would like to thank Lilleshall Golf Club for their hospitality, especially from their members, who as always very friendly and made us feel welcome.<\/p>\n
