Stratford Park Golf Club On Sunday 13th September 2026, the CGS once again descended on the Warwickshire green belt to contest our annual challenge for the coveted Players Trophy<\/strong>. Our venue for the day was Stratford Park Golf Club<\/a> (formerly Ingon Manor), set against the picturesque backdrop of a beautiful 14th century country farmhouse hotel.<\/p>\n We received a warm and courteous welcome from the staff and club professional, with plenty of private space provided to complete our registration formalities. As always, members arrived with the usual excitement and quiet hope that today might be the day everything clicks. Play well on the front nine, hold it together on the back nine, and you’re in the mix.<\/p>\n Following our warm up routines, most players gathered around the first tee to watch the opening group get underway and set the early pace for the round. Others, preferring a final tune up, remained on the practice area to sharpen their chipping and putting skills.<\/p>\n At approximately 10.30am, the first ball was struck and guided safely down the opening fairway. A pleasant par 4 provided the perfect start to settle a few nerves. The course offered an excellent mix of par 3s and challenging right and left doglegs, creating plenty of risk and reward opportunities while testing every aspect of our golfing skills.<\/p>\n The par-72 championship layout, stretching 6,575 yards, held up impressively despite the early morning showers. Thanks to its sand based foundation, the course absorbed the rainfall efficiently, dried rapidly, and maintained excellent playing conditions throughout the round. Fairways were in good condition, the greens remained receptive and true, and the layout consistently rewarded accurate shot making.
